Composted Sewage Sludge Application in a Sugarcane Seedling Nursery: Crop Nutritional Status, Productivity, and Technological Quality Implications

چکیده
Composted sewage sludge (CSS) contains large amounts of organic matter and nutrients can be used as an fertilizer to improve growth, yield, quality sugarcane. However, there is a lack information regarding the impact CSS application on sugarcane seedling performance in nursery environments. A field study was conducted using randomized complete block design evaluate development, nutritional status, productivity, technological seedlings after with or without mineral fertilizer. Morphological variables (stem height, diameter, number, well leaf area), attributes (total recoverable sugar: ATR; quantity sucrose juice: Pol; Brix: percentage (weight/weight) soluble solids contained juice; TAH: tons sugar per hectare), productivity were evaluated. Treatments did not influence morphological except for TAH but positively alter status productivity. The rates 5.0 7.5 Mg ha−1 fertilizers (MF) provided greatest increase crop Our results indicate that sustainable management option nurseries, resulting greater at lower fertilization rates.

Use of composted sewage sludge in growth media for broccoli.
In this study, the use of composted sewage sludge (CSS) as a binary component with peat (P) in growth media for a horticultural crop, broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. Botryti cv. Marathon), was evaluated. Four treatments were established, based on the addition of increasing quantities of composted sewage sludge to peat (0%, 15%, 30% and 50%, v/v). Physical, physico-chemical and chemical analyse...
متن کاملFate of nonylphenol and 17beta-estradiol contained in composted sewage sludge after land application.
Many environmental problems caused by endocrine disrupters (EDs) have been reported. Because little is known about the fate of EDs accumulated in sewage sludge, we carried out a study to clarify the fate of EDs in composted sludge after its application to soil. Nonylphenol (NP) and 17beta-estradiol (E2) were measured for leachate and soil. High concentrations of NP and E2 were detected in the l...
متن کاملCompost, Manure and Sewage Sludge Applied to a Crop Rotation
The disposal of organic wastes specially from urban origin is a very serious problem. The recycling through agriculture is certainly one of the best solutions but it means a thorough control of the composition and doses applied, as well as the response of the crops, in production and quality. In this paper we deal with compost of solid urban residues, sewage sludge, and cow manure as a known re...
متن کاملImpact of Sewage Sludge Spreading on Soil and Crop quality – Results from a French thorough Survey
Th e spreading of urban sewage sludge is a constant cause of controversy, in particular as this practice is known to supply amounts of potentially toxic trace metals to the soil, particularly cadmium. In order to clarify some parts of this debate, this article presents a synthesis of the results of many studies carried out in France on the impact of sewage sludge spreading: old experiments as w...
متن کاملResponses of absolute and specific enzyme activity to consecutive application of composted sewage sludge in a Fluventic Ustochrept
Composted sewage sludge (CS) is considered a rich source of soil nutrients and significantly affects the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of soil, but its effect on specific enzyme activity in soil is disregarded. The present experiment examined the absolute and specific enzyme activity of the enzymes involved in carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus cycles, the diversity of soil m...
